Hats off to the seeding committee, as all four top seeds remain ... joined by a couple of twos and a couple of threes. "We know what people like," a spokesman said, "but we keep doing the tournament every year anyway."      You might not have seen this on the East Coast if you went to bed early, but McLean Stevenson actually quit at halftime of his game with top-seeded Charles Nelson Reilly. With a five-point halftime lead, Stevenson said, "I know I was winning, but I really like to get out when things are going good. I had another gig lined up at the opening of an A&P in Lexington anyway. So ... there you go." Insiders speculate that Stevenson was avoiding Bill Walton, who had recently come on board the Stevenson train as part of the Hello Larry - Portland, Oregon -- Trailblazer connection.      The joke originally planned for this space has been donated to Brett Somers, ousted this week. GoBoilers.com is happy to give to those who have so little of their own. |

I'll give the credit to my opponent. Everything he did just seemed to trip me up. -- Gerald Ford      At first, I had a hard time staying with him on defense. Sometimes, I just couldn't pinpoint his location. But in the end, I don't think Cheney's run-and-gun style fit with his medical report. -- Richard Dawson      I had to play a friend this week, and I feel so bad for Betty; but not nearly as bad as when I used the dressing room meant for Estelle Getty. -- Nipsey Russell |
